Whether you’re wearing orthodontic braces or clear aligners, it is normal to feel some soreness at various times throughout treatment. Cheeks and gums may be irritated, teeth may be tender. Be gentle with chewing and stick to a softer diet while getting used to the new things in your mouth.
Some over-the-counter pain medicine or a warm salt water rinse can help. We will provide you with wax to place on poking spots, but wax as well as topical numbing agents are also available in the oral care section of any pharmacy or grocery store if needed.
